How To Grope On A Train

summit: Round the Mountain!

12/19/2007. Strange to say, but a little top like the Round the Mountain, a stone's throw from home, missing in our resume. The peak reaches altitudes low, but certainly did not deserve our unforgivable disregard for his rise, which appears quite difficult for the relevant range difference and the significant slope addressed.

It starts at 8:20 am by Laura and parked the car near the District Murgia, about 800 meters. The snow that fell last weekend was already present at these altitudes and makes it even more compelling our climb. The mountain rises in front of our eyes to a very impressive, with its steep slope overlooking the village, down in front of our eyes. It starts to rise immediately, with a high rate and the slopes immediately binding, via the young specimens of pine Loricato that persist on the west side of the mountain. We understand from the very beginning of the hardness of the company, so that within a few meters are already climbed significantly level. Striking is the view behind us with graduates who can see the pines Loricati that we just passed. Time for a picture and go up again, gaining momentum sustained, and in just 58 minutes on the first Domenico ('or blond) is already at the top, while the other reached a meal of minutes later. The company can not be underestimated, we covered a distance of 1.2 km with about 500 meters of altitude, for an average slope of no less than 38.2%. On the summit, after a refreshing hot tea, as our ritual will, we indulged in the photos: Our favorites are the backgrounds and the mountain massif of the Alps Sirino shrouded by clouds. Although it is well below the other peaks of the valley, the view is definitely the best, and offers the possibility to space with a 360 °: from up here it does not go unnoticed Lauria Nord motorway junction, the valley of Walnut, the area of \u200b\u200bGaldo, Serra Spina, Lake and Lake Cogliandrino Sirino, the Alps and the Monte Monte Sirino, the Coccovello and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The steep descent is different from the others in the landscape that unfolds before and that changes as you go down, and that makes this part of the excursion more enjoyable than usual.
