Birthday Novelty Singapore

Click here for the Monte Pollino (2248 mt)

Saturday, November 3, 2007. We're just two of us, the inseparable pair of unwary adventurers. Let's start with Lauria at 7.30 am at a time of Refuge De Gasperi (1575 meters) of floor Ruggie, a crucial point for hikers in the area, located in the heart of the Pollino National Park. Park the car near Colle dell'Impiso, we start towards the summit of Pollino. We go into the forest at the foot of the Serra del Prete, and in less than a half hour journey to arrive at a sustained pace already plain. We are down to 1453 meters, and from now on the road will be an uphill struggle. We will sail along a stream, and passing through it: if I remember the river should be the beginning Frido of its path or its tributary. Shorten the path by cutting down a beech tree that allows us to arrive shortly in Piano Gaudolino (1684 meters), which comes wrapped in a fog infernal. Our sense of direction today will be put to the test of time bizarre. The view is so bad, you can see just the shade of a tree in front of us. We unprepared we really, from the moment we have forgotten (or rather, the fault is only one Sunday, but now without specifying which of the two) to house the maps of the area, as well as the compass. Well, now we are careful to store the path with few reference points that we can find in the dense fog, and skillfully manage smoothly to take the path that will lead us to the summit. Going up, the fog starts to go away, leaving room for a sun COCEN you that soon we tumble from our efforts and forces us to stop to shed our warm clothing. We're back from the southwestern slope of the mountain, and looking towards the west you can see countless examples of pine loricato at our feet. The photos here are a must, but we can not waste too much time because the weather seems unstable. And so we come to the statue of the Virgin Mary, located at 2240 meters, looking towards the East nell'anticima Dolcedorme Serra, obscured by clouds. Here too is the case for us to portray in the photo, and after appropriate feeding of sugar we head towards the true summit of Pollino, at an altitude of 2248 meters. Freeze the moment of the conquest of the summit, which persisted on patches of snow that fell earlier in the week, especially in the furrows and sinkholes present in large numbers. Now begins the descent, easily surpassed Gaudolino plan and arrive at the source Spezzavummula (1664 meters), a meeting point of our adventures on the Pollino, whose waters in this period are "psychiatrist" as they say in our vernacular. We come so quickly to the car, with the satisfaction of having covered the entire route (including stops) in 4 hours just walking.

After the Himalayas to the summit of Island Peak (6189 m) in Nepal, for our friend Fabio has touched climb the Matterhorn (4478 m) Grand

Once back in Nepal in October 2005, the member Fabio Limongi managed to take pictures with the banner at the top of CAI Lagonegro to 'Island Peak (6189mt.), in the Himalayan mountain range, is not gone in him the desire to be portrayed in the usual photos on the most rugged peaks. In fact, last September, before the appointment of the Gran Sasso, the same Fabio Limongi managed to climb the Matterhorn (4478mt.) Alps Aosta Valley.
It 'seemed only right to us (his students proud of his deeds) and bring his story dell'avvincente shipment.
<>
Well, I mean, we do not just have Fabio congratulate again, hoping one day to emulate his achievements, and wish him a big "good luck" for the next engagement, such as the prestigious New York marathon.

Sasso of Italy ... and we'll be back!

Sunday, September 30, we are on stage at the foot of Gran Sasso of Italy, to scale the summit of Corno Grande (2912 m), the highest peak in the Apennines. A major flaw is the absence of Dominic 'or' fair ', held in Rome from university commitments. Delivery is then made by the indefatigable organizer Fabio with his girlfriend Katie, Henry, Tutino, the Dott.Giacobbe and Mr. Gennaro, besides myself. We used the support of a qualified mountain guide, which Cyrus Sertorelli.
But let's chronicle of the day: after an overnight stay in area Prati di Tivo (TE), alarm clock at 5:00, breakfast and departure around 6:00 in the morning, equipped with headlamps. The easy ascent to the Virgin Mary (2050 m) is therefore took place at sunrise, and as the pictures show an impeccable Fabio, the troop has repeatedly referred to admire the breathtaking scenery that opened behind us. But what opened our eyes was not the least, the massive rock mass of the Gran Sasso ready to challenge comes in the colors of dawn, which are projected on the snow on the rock, it seems to assist a spell. There are already seven when we left the Valley of the Crows and stolen us towards the Pass of the ladder, dodging large urban rock and landslide debris. Start now challenging the first leg of the climb, made even harder by the ice, so we rely on a fixed rope to climb this short stretch and set out on the snow to the Franchetti refuge (2433 m). Short stop for a hot tea and to consult with other hikers on the conditions of the peak and then starts up again, but after a short distance we stopped again to fit the crampons, given the large quantity of snow fallen in previous days. We are on the horns of the two saddle (2547 m), a wonderful vantage point that allows us to Pizzo Intermesoli and admire the magnificent stone fire and ice. Behind us we leave the Little Horn, another glance of unparalleled value. The climb continues keeping a high level of safety, so the use of crampons accompany the use of harnesses and ropes. Climb therefore preserved, and we are on the Vallone dei Ginepri. Here we present another stretch of railway, which brings us to the Passo del Cannone, about 2700 meters. The snow now seems to have vanished, at least for now, by the action of the wind. Fabio providential to properly report that the transition us back to the road home with a cairn, to avoid getting lost. It seems almost made for us, but at the climax, when perhaps already anticipate the taste of the summit, here we are facing another snowfield. Obligation to crampons, but this time for me is not really possible to continue due to the risks run by the insufficiency of the equipment. It 'been a bad sharp pain in my heart this, but the advice of an expert guide as dolomite Sertorelli Cyrus could not pass unnoticed on my part. Continue to the summit only now close Fabio, and Henry Tutino. The cross on top this time I see her only in photographs, but do not miss the opportunity to come back, remained a challenge between me and this peak. Of course for me to give up the top it was painful, and I do not know if tomorrow I will be able in such situations again to take such a wise decision, and especially do not know if I will be so good to find yourself a danger in front of my path.

Eriadne: a useful support for hikers

Patocchi Lorenzo has just presented an interesting mobile application named Eriadne excursion that allows you to keep track of his movements during the different outputs but also to share this track with those responsible. This in terms of safety in hiking is very important as it facilitates the localization in case of accidents also the system uses different mechanisms of localization and communication at the same time to emphasize that even more security.
